"One of our community's greatest strengths is the willingness of others to share their knowledge, experience and concepts regarding preparations. I would be remiss if I didn't contribute to this effort. We are all trying to solve problems, implement methods and look for a more efficient way to ensure our families' well-being. I want to do my part." - Joe Nobody
From weapons to water filters, equipment is a critical component of any self-reliance lifestyle. While the web may be full of reviews, videos and other media, Joe looks at gear and kit from the prepper's perspective.
Not one to jump on the newest offering's bandwagon, Joe likes to use products in the field for a considerable amount of time before recommending anything to his readers.

"Preppers have unique needs when it comes to products. Spare parts most likely won't be available. Customer service reps won't answer the phone, and we won't be able to run down to the corner store on Saturday morning for batteries. While military gear is designed for the harsh rigors of warfare, it isn't always the best solution. After an event, we most likely won't have a unit armorer to fix our malfunctioning weapon. The repair man isn't gong to show up, and we can't ship a defective product back along with a nasty letter. We need robust tools and equipment that are legacy quality." - Joe Nobody
